Norwegian author Ari Behn, who happened to be among one of the many people that accused Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct, committed suicide this Wednesday, on the occasion of Christmas. The news of his demise was announced by Ari’s spokesperson Geir Håkonsund, in a statement to CNN. "It is with great sadness in our hearts that we, the very closest relatives of Ari Behn, must announce that he took his own life today. We ask for respect for our privacy in the time to come," said Geir.
47-year-old Ari Behn was the ex-husband of Norwegian Princess Martha Louise and the former member of Norway’s royal family. The two were married from the year 2002 to 2017 and were parents to three daughters. As per Fox News, in their official statement, the Royal House of Norway said, "Ari was an important part of our family for many years, and we carry warm and good memories of him with us.” It was in the year 1999 that Ari published his first book ‘Sad as Hell,’ he then wrote several novels and plays. Ari’s last book was ‘Inferno’ that talked about his struggles with mental health issues.
In the month of December 2017, Ari Behn had accused Kevin Spacey of groping him under a table during 2007’s Nobel Peace Prize concert. As per BBC, he had narrated his alleged ordeal on radio station P4. “We had a great talk, he sat right beside me. After five minutes, he said, 'Hey, let's go out and have a cigarette.' Then he puts his hand under the table and grabs me by the balls," said Ari Behn. Spacey, however, denied all the allegations and never really responded. Reportedly, Behn never filed a lawsuit or criminal charges against Spacey.
